Jim was born Jan 2, 1932 and grew up in Chetopa KS. He went to high school at Kemper Military Academy, and attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in 1954.

Kent graduated from Kemper Military School in Missouri in 1949, and served proudly in the US Air Force as a 1st Lt. from 1954 to 1962. He met the love of his life, Joan, at a church picnic. The Boonville City Council approved a development agreement for senior housing at the former Kemper Military School during its meeting on Monday, August 21.
City Administrator Kate Fjell stated the housing would be for age 55 and older and the council was excited about the proposed development.

Rogers attended several schools during his childhood, including Kemper Military School in Boonville, Mo., from 1897-98. He dropped out in the 10th grade to become a cowboy. In 1902 and 1903, Will traveled in South Africa with “Texas Jack’s Wild West Show,” in which he played “The Cherokee Kid” and did roping tricks. He also traveled in Australia and New Zealand with the Wirth Brothers Circus.
