Pathfinder Alpha – David A. Flores
Reflecting on my time at Kemper, I would have to say my greatest takeaway was the combination of camaraderie and lessons on admirable self-governance and small-unit leadership. I feel we were fortunate to learn those principles as young adults and they have in turn helped us chisel the character and life goals that have come to define who we are as people. Kemper will always hold a very dear place in my heart. It was the place where I first learned to develop ideas and dreams of my own. Kemper fostered in me an attitude of service and civic duty and helped me to realize that my life was propped up by the shoulders of those that had come before me. I am therefore sincerely grateful to her for that.
I graduated with the Class of 1993 as Alpha Co. First Sgt. I’m 20 years married to my beautiful wife Anna, she’s a great wife and mother and a kick-ass, get-it-done NGO executive. I am the father of 3 awesome young adults two daughters Iliana and Natalia who are in college and my son Emiliano who is a senior in high school. After Kemper, I studied at Texas A&M University Kingsville and earned my B.A. in Business Administration with CIS emphasis. I am working on a 20-year career in IT. Currently, I’m the IT Administrator and Business Strategy Organizer for a regional medium-sized home care agency in South Texas. I’ve enjoyed volunteering in Church leadership and I enjoy music and video production as a hobby.
I believe we each bring value to one another and our lives are interconnected in ways sometimes we cannot see. If we choose to honor that idea, our influence is beyond our time here on Earth and we can leave this place better off than how we came to it. I look forward to serving this organization and the Old Boys that I know and those I will come to know.
I AM a Kemper Old Boy!
