Representative Dan Houx  Missouri House of Representatives

Rep. Dan Houx, a Republican, represents parts of Johnson and Pettis County (District 54) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2016, reelected in 2018 and 2020. He was presented with legislator of the year by the St. Louis Homebuilders Assoc. and Farm Bureau’s Friends of Agriculture.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Houx has been a real estate developer/ homebuilder and a licensed Realtor. He is the past Chairman of the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce, a current member of Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce, Military Affairs Committee, Base Community Council, and a past board member on Johnson County Economic Development Corporation and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

Rep. Houx graduated from Kemper Military School in Boonville, MO.

Rep. Houx was born in Warrensburg, MO and is the 6th generation of his family born in Johnson County and the 7th generation to live there. He currently resides in Warrensburg with his wife.

Arthur Henry Schnuck, Jr., was born July 1, 1950, in Boonville, MO., the son of Arthur Henry Schnuck, Sr. and Frances Twillman Schnuck. He was confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Boonville. Art graduated from Boonville High School in 1968 and then attended Kemper Military School and College graduating on May 30, 1970, with an Associate in Arts. He attended basic training at Fort Gordon, Georgia and was assigned to the Missouri Army National Guard- 175th Military Police in Moberly, MO. Jerry Lee Knight, 79, of Rio Frio, died on Nov. 3, 2021, at his son’s residence in Houston with family members gathered by his bedside. He was born on April 1, 1942, in Bay City to Gladyce (White) and Vaughn Alden Knight. According to the family, he was never far from his father’s side. While a youth, he spent time catching horned toads in the long shadows of a west Texas drilling rig, rebuilding an old hot rod, and fishing into the night at the family fishing camp at the mouth of the Brazoria River. He absorbed lessons bestowed by his father, and applied them across the decades of his life, including in the buildings he built, crops he planted, livestock he grazed, dogs he trained, the people he cherished, chances he took, and the friendships he made along the way. He moved with his family to various oil patches, including one in Jennings, Louisiana, where he attended first grade. Soon, his family returned to West Texas, where he continued his elementary education. He then attended Kemper Military Academy in Boonville, Missouri, before returning to the Houston area and graduating from Lamar High School.
